barely got it home.....now wont start

88 GXL 80,000 miles

I was accelerating then seems like the fuel cut off. Started back up after 2 cranks, however it made a really wierd sound once it got going again.

BUT it made now no power at all. I put into drive and it stalled. Started it again and it never went past 35mph. Seemed to rev pretty freely (no hesitation), but sounded slow and took a while to rev.

Got it home

Now wont start

Any sugestions.

Have you checked the timing? Not only will you see if the timing is correct, but also if all the plugs are firing if you clip the pickup on each of the plug wires.

Also, I'm not sure about your model year, but you should be able to read out the computer codes on the dash when you jumper the test plug for the timing check.

When my T2 blew I was just cruising, shifted to 5th and a loud sound kind of like a really deep fart came from my exhaust. I lost power brakes(dont have ps) and pulled over. Tried to start it and I had to keep my foot on the floor to get it to rev, when it did it wouldn't idle and had no power, It would rev alright but had no power. I couldn't get over 40mph. My mom was following me and said I was shooting little blue flames almost constantly. Pulled the sensor on the lead spark plugs, pulled all the plugs. Did a compression test. Front showed 90 plus bounces. The rear was 0. I feel your pain, that was last April and I'm just now getting her back together, hopefully it will be running this weekend. If it's blown I'd contact Rotary Resurrectin, great price and workmanship.
