I bought a set off of ebay for my S4.. I can't remember the seller's name, but they had a lot of common wear items for FCs and FBs such as brakes, rotors, ball joints, etc..

I wish I could remember their names, as the prices were good, and it was Mazda stock stuff..

Edit: I think it was these guys.. Zapparts sounds familiar http://stores.ebay.com/ZAPPARTS-by-B-QUEST-LLC They were 25 bucks apiece for the S4s, I didn't check on the S5s for ya.. I don't know if they're different.

for the S5 you will need to replace the entire arm. If new = very expensive.
Try and find a used set.
Or you can find a used set of S4 arms, and then you can buy the ball joints seperately.

The sway bar mounts are all different.

How do you know your ball joints are toast?

Wait a minute.....

With the car off the ground.. if you can move the wheel back and forth when grabbing it at 12 an 6 oclock and it shakes up and down... probably a ball joint. Sometimes you have to use a prybar between the steering knuckle and the a-arm to really tell if the ball joint is bad. They don't go out that often.. but goddamit.. 400 buckeroos is a lot of money cause your balljoint went out...

HOWEVER....

If you grab it at 3 and 9 oclock and it shakes left to right.. thats the tie rod end.. which would also cause it to wander over sloppy pavement and cause a shake at speeds, cause if the tie rod is bad, the wheel is out of allignment as well.. Pray for a tie rod end!!!!
