ball joint/tie rod dust boots

im doing an overhaul on my suspension; RB springs/sway bars, tokico shocks, energy suspension bushings. while taking apart the front suspension, i looked at the ball joint dust boots and the tie rod dust boots, and they are both split about half way around. they still feel tight and smooth, will they be ok staying the car or should i replace them? i dont mind replacing them but they're a little expensive at ~$66 a piece so i just wanted to see what you guys thought.

if you think the balljoints and tie rods are still good you can get the boot kit from energy suspension or prothane for under 20 bux i believe
