Bad water seal and what else?

So I bought an 87 Turbo II which has a bad water seal. The guy I bought it from said the add coolant light came on and he pulled over. He saw the coolant was low and he topped it off and drove home. He said when it was idling he could feel steam coming out of the exhaust. So he let it sit for about 8 years and i just bought it.

So, I wondering what all I can expect when I crack this engine open. Am I possibly looking at a warped center iron? And when I do rebuild it, what all am I going to need? Am I going to need the full $300 gasket set?

Thanks

I'd say you'd be lucky if theres any parts in the engine not effected by rust after 8 years sitting in coolant..

If your going to rebuild your best bet is to always get the full gasket kit. +1 on the luck if it's not rusted...

Personally I would expect the worst, full rebuild. New rotor, new Iron, etc. (then again in my opinion if your going to go as far as a rebuild you might as well put the money in for the rotor(s) and iron either way)
