my car is having issues, when im acelerating more than 20% on the throttle in gear the engine light comes on and the car runs like crap and doesnt go anywhere. does this mean i need a new tps, ive already adjusted it twice with no positive effects. i hope it hasnt gone bad b/c im out of town with my car...so are my worst fears true?

 

sorry, i forgot to add a little info. the car idles fine and the engine light doesnt come on until i go more than 20% on the throttle. then it comes on and stays on.

 

I see it's a '91. If that's correct, you'll be able to pull the code through the "check engine light", then we'll know the problem area.

 

i got several...13, 18, 27, and 37. it could be an intake leak but it idles ok and drives fine unless i give it more than 20%...need anymore info let me know..thanks

I think you have to correct the error code befor doing something.
