I've been looking for a clutch to handle my power yet not to hard on the leg
I found this at a good price and being that it is six puck and sprung I was thinking it should be good but have no idea how good XTD is. I did a search but nothing conclusive came out of my searches. Can anyone let me know what you think? THanks.

lol, i felt bad for saying but you get what you pay for and a racing clutch for $200 isn't something you see all day everyday and the pressure plate looks 'run of the mill' but merely painted.

Well anything has to be better than my stocker. With my stage I turbo I was getting boost around 3-3.5k rpm and was slipping at 5k rpm so I was getting 1.5-2k rpm good power before car would start slipping so I can emagine what would happen with the stage III bnr going in.
i have a cheap *** kragen clutch in my car atm, i'm trying to test it's limits and so far it is holding up just fine so who knows.. maybe i am wrong about that clutch like i thought i would be about mine but mine has a lifetime warranty if i happen to blow it up, i don't think i expect anything over the net to come with a warranty nor would i want to pay shipping to warranty anything over the net.
i treat things on ebay like i would at the flea market, if something looks cheap and seems like a great deal then it is probably what it seems and i wouldn't expect to find that person next week to get a refund or a warranty. some things can get by with cheap parts, other things like clutches usually you don't want to skimp on.

yeah I hear you and I tell that to all my customers but today I went against the grain and am fully prepared for what may or may not happen. The only thing that sucks is that I may have to take this to a mechanic to do it because I have no idea how to change out a clutch so the labor x2 is going to kill me if this clutch sucks. I guess I look at it like a gamble because no one has really said anything good or bad about it yet. I also will look at it as a learning experiance for future rx7 people that want an xtd clutch. If it is **** I will state so on here and will do the same if it is a good clutch. Wish me luck though
I need you to be possitive for me man

really the clutch is not hard to change, just get your car way up on jackstands so you have some room to move around and to get the tranny out. one day job, just remember to keep the engine tilted back or you will never get the tranny back on.
if your looking at the driverside of your car, you want to tilt it clockwise. i just shoved a 2x6 between the intake manifold and the spot behind the headlight. it took me 4 hours to figure it out though. still only one day job

lol, still haven't gotten around to putting it on. I"m going to be rebuilding my engine in about a week or so and while it is out I will be adding the new clutch. After I add the clutch I'll post the results. I will also, if I think about it, post results after a couple months and then after a year or so. I will have about 320rwhp on it so if it hold up that would be great! Also if I descided to go stand alone then I will be around 350rwhp hopefully with that clutch.
heres a link to this clutch you speak of...

he prolly has more than 400rwhp, and it seems ok so far..
id say go fer it

Next: Ebay Clutch Update:
I decided to take a risk and replaced my ACT 6 puck unsprung disc + Heavy duty pressure plate with a XTD clutch kit purchased off ebay....
The ebay clutch kit came with a 6 puck SPRUNG disc, pressure plate, release bearing, pilot bearing, and clutch alignment tool.. total cost to me shipped to my door was $300... how coudl you beat that? cheaper than buying a stock clutch!
Once we finally got the motor and tranny back in the car and bled the clutch, I hopped into the car to check pedal feel... gone was the heavy leg workout that the ACT heavy duty pressure plate gave.. the clutch pedal was very easy to actuate.. some friends mentioned that it felt easier than a stock clutch setup...
This initially scared me, since I wasn't too confident that the clutch would hold up to the car's power... but I guess we would find out soon enough..
Driving with the clutch is very very easy.. It's not grabby at all, unlike the ACT 6 puck, which was basically an on/off switch.. driveing in traffic is a breeze.. It's such a nice change from the old setup..But is it going to slip??
Well, let's put it this way.. my old motor put down 371rwhp.. with about 320ish ft/lbs of torque.. My new motor feels quite a bit stronger than the old motor.. I have been giving it some boost lately.. and the clutch has held up.. I havn't had it slip... Mind you, I have not done any real hard 6000rpm launches on the clutch, nor do I plan on doing it with this setup, But so far I'm quite happy and impressed with it... I figure that this clutch would definitely hold up to a stock/mildly modified setup and would be a great choice.. mainly because of the price.. On a more heavily modified car, I belive the clutch will hold up so long as it's not put through too much abuse.. I'm sure that I could overpower this clutch easier than I would have been able to with the ACT setup.. but I think that it will do it's job just fine so long as I don't over do it... The real test I guess will be when I get back on the drag strip.. we'll see how it holds up there...

i have this clutch installed on my dead 7 and it performs great i was chirping up to 4th gear but i was stupid enough to not let it break in and now it slips like crazy but overall its a good clutch and its well worth the $$ even though i bought mine back when they were $300 on ebay. anyway yea good clutch go for it
