I called it! You my friend have just opened a whole new door on teh forum. I posted it in the lounge and got so much opposition and negativity but you know what it's still the best I have seen, and it's obvious that I am not the only one.

Anyone ever do temperature tests in the stock airbox, CAI airbox and engine bay for comparison?

That would indeed be useful info. Also wondering if the stock snorkel is actually contributing much here- I have mine on the car with an open element as well, although without that sanitary looking box ya got there...

No joke man, it's quite clear, you could make some money. If the price were right I'd definitely grab one. Is it aluminum, or some kind of plastic? Although I do have to say... using the wire loom on the edges... it looks kind of funny, why not use rubber or foam stripping?

And if all else fails, like said before by someone else, get a template! It can't be -that- hard to make by hand, especially if it bolts into the stock mount points.

im working on the template, and i think the material is just roof flashing. The wire loom.. i just told the guy the spect that i wanted it to and he used whatever materials he had that worked.

It is very clean, looks great. My regaurds, It doesnt seem to be really tight though. Wouldent you be seeing tons of hot air comming in from even the smallest bay-adjecent crack?

If you think about it, in theory(mine that is) if there is enough air flowing through the air duct into the general box area that should be enough pressure to keep the "
tons of hot air" from just flowing in.... or at leas that’s how I would see it.

-or at least there is more cool air being sucked in that the small amounts of heat shouldn’t make a difference. Well all in all it must be better than nothing
