bad oil injectors?

i have been chasing down a vacuum leak and i found that my oil injectors are leaking air. the thing that gets me is they all leak, i could see if one was bad but not all of them.
can anyone tell me how they work? as far as i can tell is i can blow through them but not the other way, like a pcv. but because mine are leaking they will not create a vacuum.
mine are leaking air through the seal on the top of the injector (looking down you see the vacuum line and a circle were the metal casing around the side folds over the top) i can see the air coming from under the circle with a little oil blowby.

i would hate to spend $200 on new ones only to find out that was not my problem

You really, really need to read the free online FSM and the LUBRICATION SYSTEM section. Air flows only one way as shown in the manual.

There is no vacuum on the top of the injector. That is a path to metered air and not vacuum. The large hose on the spider goes to a source of metered air.........not vacuum.

The only vacuum on a oil injector is from the rotor chamber on its intake stroke i.e. the bottom of the injector where it screws into the housings/manifold.

They ain't broke from what I can tell.

If someone ever put a cap on top of the injectors and drove the car..........the pan would be out of oil pretty darn soom. The rotors vacuum would suck the heck on those little oil injector oil lines/pump and drain the pan. How long? Got me.

So there is a airbleed on top of the injectors (like the jpg says) that equalizes the pressure on both sides of the oil injector to prevent this giant sucktion. Suction.

thanks for the pic, but my oil injectors allow air to flow in both directions. and i can see air/oil leaking from the top of the injectors (not much just a little). i was confused because they all do this, i would understand if one was doing it but its all of them, so i wanted to be sure i was thinking right before i decide to replace them

or, are you saying that if i had a car that was running prefect and i removed the vacuum/metered air line from the throttle body it would not effect the idle?

No. Air should flow in only one direction. From top to bottom of the injector. The checkvalve is to prevent oil from going the wrong direction.

From memory the checkvalve is nothing but a rubber like material. Might try cleaning it with??? got me. Someone wrote about cleaning his oil injectors some time ago. Carb cleaner I guess.

I'm not saying anything like post #4 above.

If removed the lack of that metered air would effect the idle. That can be overcome easily, but you don't wanna do that. I'm not a beliver of pouring oil into the fuel tank is what I mean.

Oil injectors can't be taken apart and cleaned. They can be taken apart but I bet you can't put it back together again. I can take a steel ball apart but no way can I put it back together. sorta humor thing.

im not sure about the oil consumption, it doesn't seem to use any more than i thought it should use. i have only had the car for a year. but have learned a lot about how it works the past month trying to fix it. it doesn't smoke or anything
