Bad Mounts?

So I was racing against my friends for fun last night. I was lauching it around 4k. The next day Im driving on the freeway and i feel the car vibrate alot more than it used too. I get feedback through the gas pedal, shifter, and sometimes in my seats.

It only happens on the freeway and at idle.

Im gonna replace my transmission mounts soon. I was wondering should I replace the motor mounts at the same time just to ensure that all the vibrations will go away or is just the tranny fine?

you may have tweaked the u-joints...which is a major pain in the @ss since rx7 drveshafts have the u joints permanantly pressed in so you have to get a whole new driveshaft....if this is the case,i think mazdatrix makes one with replaceable joints.

You might as well... competition mounts give you a better feel and easier shifts anyway.

(I'd personally avoid solid mounts though)

You should probably replace the engine mounts regardles as they're likely 14+ years old anyway.

Your vibration problem could be bad mounts but more likey you have damaged the driveshaft. Your local driveline shop can fix your old one, or you can purchase a new one with replacable U-joints from Mazdatrix.
