bad idle on and off HELP...

I have a 90 N/A vert and it has 46k miles. its been raining a lot the past 5 days and i didnt drive it the past 2 days...soo today i was driving as usuall and about 10 miles down the road at a street light, i was shifting from 1st to 2nd, then it backfired, boggled and felt like a lot of lost power(almost died) but i hit the clutch and pressed the gas and it seemed o.k. soo i drive a bit more and it does it boggles in third as i speed up to shift to fourth...then seems normal again. the boggling seems to come and go and at no particular gear. does anyone know what it might be? help please...

Spray around the suspected area with carb cleaner, if the revs pick up, you found your leak.

Don't use carb cleaner. Use water. It's much safer.

The problem could be due to many things, but a vacuum leak tops the list. Strange problems like this can be attributed to the TPS being out of adjustment (search) or the BAC valve (search).
