Bad idle, can't rev past ~3500 or give >10% throttle

Yep. My red car (which is for sale, by the way), is running like poo.

It was running GREAT.. drove it around the block a few times (it's unlicensed and uninsured..so can't drive it on the real streets).. I got it back into my driveway, and it just died. Now, it runs like crap.

It struggles to hold an idle. It "runs", but it won't really go past around 3000 rpms.. If you give it more than ~10% or 15% throttle, it just cuts out--almost as if all gas or spark were being cut (BUT..the secondary injector wires are connected, and it will run with ONLY leading *AND/OR* ONLY trailing connected)

I've never been able to use my timing gun on this car--L1 and T1 won't trigger it -- but L2 and T2 do.. But, since the car runs on either coil back alone, that tells me that it IS getting spark.

I fiddled with the CAS a bit (blindly).. Occasionally, it ran better.. I had it running great for a minute (back to good..revved to 7k fine), but next time I started it up, it ran bad again..

It's driving me pretty crazy.. Any ideas? :confused; Searching for "bad idle" or "3000 rpm" or anything gives me the phonebook..

I'd like to get it running a bit better before I sell it, but...oh well.. time will tell.

Umm, have you checked the coils/plugs/wires?

i cleaned the plugs up... but they were not bad.. My actions above lead me to believe that the coils "fire"... Plus, I swapped out the leading coil from my 88, and I had the same problem.. I also swapped the wires..

It feels like it's just getting fuel cut (or spark cut) after a certain amount of throttle... most odd.
