Bad Idle After Intake

I put my intake in, which at first didn't work because it wasn't even going to the turbo because the tubing had come off. Anyways, after Turbonut helped me fix that problem, it idled fine like it usually did before, and we let it just warm up. After that, he left, and I needed to fully mount the intake, so I went and did that, and I started it back up again to have it idle just like normal. Then I checked everything again, and closed the hood with the car running. Like 30 seconds later the smooth idle started dropping rpms and bouncing up and down like it was struggling to stay up. I drove the car back to my moms house and it drove absolutely fine, except for the fact that at stoplights and such, when in nuetral, I had to slightly tap the gas to keep the idle up so it wasn't like bouncing around. What might be wrong and how can I go about fixing it?

i know my idle was screwed for the longest time because my AFM wasn't mounted. the guy that had it before me put a cone filter on the car and there's no longer a bracket holding up the intake hose/AFM; so i had to ziptie it.

So was it just not level or was there air going through some part?

air leaks between AFM and TB usually will cause a high idle from what i've experienced.
in this case, it just wasn't level. best i can explain it, from what it seems, was that with the AFM laying forward, the cone on the inside tries to fall forward and gravity acts as a resistance (so to speak). with a bracket, its more level. is your intake attached to anything by the AFM or just laying against the car? we found the problem on my car by accidentally lifting the intake by the filter which raised the AFM to a more horizontal position which basically fixed the idle.
