Angry Bad fitting of Autometer dual gauge pod?

I just bought the autometer dual gauge pod and tried to fit it on to the panel and find a position to install it.
but it does not wrap around the plastic panel well..

Looks like i am going to heat it up and do some molding.......

Even though autometer lists those to fit 86-91s, they only actually fit 86-88, and convertible...the 89-91 US spec cars had those auto seatbelts, meaning a different a-pillar, meaning the pod no longer fit. The convertible and 86-8 coupes did not get those.

Yep. I just forced mine to fit using a few extra screws. Good luck!! Check out http://geocities.com/rotorwarrior/rx-7 it has some pics of my gauge pod to see what it looks like.

yarg

Mine fit perfectly....but then again, I am in Canada...no Auto Seat Belts.

The one I bought said "89-91" on it. However, I think that these pods don't fit properly on anyones car with auto seat belts (from what I have heard on this forum at least once every 2 weeks).
