Bad alt??

In doing a search, I think that's whats happening, but I'd like to confirm.

Got a parasitic drain, killed new battery in 3-4 days. Meter between neg battery cable and neg post showed 150-200ma drain. Started unplugging stuff, got to the alternator and disconnected the big wire. Dropped to 15ma.
Nothing to do now but to replace the alternator, right?

Sounds logical...How old is the alt?

Also try putting the big wire back on and disconnecting the small plug at the back. Any difference?
