this is bad.
this is bad.
so today i was driving home from work, about 7 minutes away from my home. and i start up the car let it warm up some, and i start driving home, i hit only a few lbs of boost about 3 times and made a right turn and i start gettin on the gas and there is a massive bog. i hear the turbo spooling, and its showing that im hitting boost way earlier than what it normally would. i had trouble maintaining speed and accelerating into traffic because the bog is so bad. it wasnt going over the stock 7 psi, but it was still creating boost. the idle dropped from its normal 700-900 to about 600. i pulled it into my garage and the turbo on the exhaust side was glowing red. i waited for an hour or so for it to cool down and i pulled the intake off and checked if the intake side turbine blades were still spinning, which they spun freely.
i want to say i have a warped turbo housing but i dont know enough about the symptoms of a warped housing to say that.
Before i start tearing apart turbo set up i would like to know what went wrong? i tried doing a little searchin for the topic but i had trouble getting the search to work on the site.

no. gutted cat, 3" downpipe, racing beat exhuast, 720cc secondaries, safc, streetport, and a few more doo dads.
if its building pressure, i dont understand why the turbo would be warped, so that kind of contradicts my earlier thoughts. its having a lot of trouble idling, its dipping close to 450 on a colder engine. and shuts off after a minute or so on its own.
all the vaccuum lines were replaced by the previous owner, i double checked a good bit of them, primairily around the intake and turbo and they appeared.
the exhuast had a different smell. almost like it was running leaner also.
