Hey just got the new ACT street/strip clutch, new tranny fluid,new drive shaft, did the fuel injection cleaning,replaced all vacuum hoses,and gutted the cats. I have 91 vert and i can easily do 80mph in 3rd gear, the car revs at about 5500-6000 rpms, the vacuum gauge is humming at 10psi. Now it feels really strong, the car has 186,000 on the engine. So now im wondering, Do all N/A RX7's do 80 in 3rd, cause its feels great, but i dont want to blow the engine driving like this.

 

It should do 80 easily in 3rd, I know 2nd in my GTUs is around 65, never payed that much attention.

done about 100 in 3rd with about 1-1.5 g's left on stock tach

 

i've done 100 in 3rd, RPM buzzer went off and i looked down and realized i should really shift now.

 

So that ACT clutch really helped? I'm trying to get one, but this bastard keeps outbidding me...I'm only willing to pay so much for the damn thing....200 max......

 

Act clutch is amazing. I could not believe the difference in what the butt dyno was feeling in terms of lost ponies. i know you dont make more horses on a new clutch, but it sure freed up alot of power from my stock slipping one. I can chirp gears now.
