Back To the TrAck!!!!!!!!!!!

well yep finally I went out to river city to drag my 88TII...last time I was out I broke my front diff mount, this time I got everything in working order, a new TPS, and reset timing and idle, last time I ran a 14.1 with massive wheel hop, this time I still got a little wheel hop but only cause my tires are bald and hard, only did 3 runs 2 of which I missed 3rd, but the first run I had was the best heres my time

reaction 0.7617
60 ft 2.1565
1/8th ET 8.9898
1/8th mph 80.81
1/4 ET 13.8588
1/4 MPH 101.80

that race was hella good to, I was racing a 2000 Grand am GTP supercharged, he had a smaller pully, and upgraded computer he was at 9psi I though I was gonna smoke him but we where neck and neck the whole 1/4 his 60ft was a 2.2323 but he beat me in the 1/4 13.8334 at 101.07mph, I'm hoping to nock 2 to 3 tenths of a sec off when I get new tires, my rear shocks where set at 1 the loosest setting dunno if it should be tighter or what Just lemme know what you guys think, I also got my fiero eletric fan on also with no over heating so whatta think?

You want the rear shocks loose and the fronts tight. Rear wheel drive cars unload when you launch. That what its called when the weight transfers back and compresses the rear shocks. Loose rear shocks will aid this effect. What tree were you using, full or pro? Where you running brackets or heads up? What was your dial in if you were running brackets? (I'm assuming your were)
Good job by the way

no fuel controller and I've never had the car on a dyno either. All my mods are listed.

damn, maybe i can run 13's too. i have the same mods as you all do and i have some nice potenza tires in the rear. I'm about to do the TID mod, and plan on getting a nice catback fabbed up. i wonder how much my stock catback is holding be back?
(can you guys show me some pictures of your TID mod? i bought parts and they are the wrong angles to make the TID)

ps. the NY giants rule.

I am skeptical about him too, but I have to admit that he has good ideas for getting NA power with porting, etc. My goal with mine is to break into 14s after the street port, maybe eventually reach mid 14s. A streetable NA in the 13 range is pretty fast . . . that is like the stock FD!

only way to do that is strip it...and it still wouldn't be very streetable but it would be very cool, not worries about blowing your motor!

Well I am keeping my carpet! I am putting an aluminum hood on it, have the most stripped base model available (no sunroof, bins, power accessories) and I just removed the AC and front bumper reinforcement. I'm hoping to get it in the 2400-2500 pound range . . . we'll see. One thing is for certain: Stock 14" rims are about 14 pounds each, and the NA drivetrain has a lower amount of rotational mass than the turbo version, which gives a similar effect as having a lighter flywheel . . . not as much weight to get spinning when accelerating the car.

I am a wannabe engineer and don't like the idea of my engine exploding if I am not running it under 12:1 air fuel ratio, which is a bit rich to begin with. The fact that turbo rotaries detonate at 12.5:1 or higher is not a good thing!

Yes but if your gonna be pushing 200hp at the fly wheel or even 180 for that matter, you'd better take real care shifting, I blew my N/A tranny from just down shifting to first at 15mph! this was in my 89 GTU
