Back seat to storage bin conversion Q's

There seems to be no info on this matter on the 2nd Gen forum. Searches only bring up vague 1rst Gen topics of Bin to Rear seat conversions.

Anyhoo...

I stripped my badly worn interior and one of the things I threw away were the Back Seats. I'm planning on replace it all with nifty black interior pieces, but I'd like to have storage bins as opposed to the useless rear seats. Also, all the replacement carpets I can find online seem to be designed for storage bin interiors.

I've never actually seen the bins in person, so I dont know if it is a replaceable component. Can anyone clear this up for me? Can I buy rear bins for my GXL or am I stuck with what I've got?

I don't know what you are asking... but i did a backseat to bin swap... you will need the bins themselves, the plastic holders that bolt in, and the new back carpeting... all the trim will work. If your asking where to get the bins and holders... check the FS section here... or mazdatrix/someone might have them online. Or just check a junkyard... easy to find and really cheap... i dont think i paid $20 to do the conversion.

If you still have the back seets, belts, and hardware I am sure someone would buy that from you or trade you the bin parts.

No he said he threw a way the seats. But the bin hardware is an easy replacement job. I just pulled out the non-locking bins from my 86 and put in the locking bins from my 91 parts car. Its easy. Just go browsing through junk yards.

I have black bins in good shape........the rear carpet is fine except for the very rear ( the part that attaches to the rear of the car (it's broken.) PM me if interested.
