Back Pressure?

I was talking to a kid at work the other day about my car and he said that a friend of his had a 89 that didn't run right. The friend sold it and some one else got it running right by just putting a new factory exhaust on it. Is there not enough back pressure if the right exhaust isn't used? Sounds kinda dumb but just curious. I told him i had 0 compression on one rotor, he tells me to put a factory exhaust on it. lol.

Plugged cat was prob. the reason it wouldn't run right.

0 comp on one half = rebuild.
