bac valve?

on the exhaust manifold of my T2 there's a little sensor of somesort.
in the manual it says it's the BAC valve.
anyway there's a few hoses comming out of it.
there's one hose that comes out to the left of the turbo. In my car this hose is connected to nothing.
What is this? What does it do? Should i do anything about it? ie. plug it up?

I have aftermarket management

I think you're talking about the ACV instead. I think its source is the airpump. I couldn't tell you all it does if I wanted to since I don't know. I would suggest some cozy-time with the FSM.

Sounds like the ACV valve. If you have "aftermarket engine management" ( ) then you can safely install a blockoff plate. This also assumes that the airpump has been removed, and you are not running cats.

W/O doing any homework, the Air Control Valve, I think pretty much just directs airpump air to different parts of the engine.

I didn't think the cats lasted very long w/o the fresh air supply.

Whatever it is that's open, I would plug it up/cap it off.
