BAC Question

Hello,

'90 Vert

While the car is running and I unplug the input hose to the BAC the car stalls.

Also, if the hose is unhooked and I try to start the car it won't start.

Is this normal?

Thanks.

One of the test is if you unplug the BAC, the idle will drop significantly, which is an indication that it is functiioning properly. If the hose is unhooked, your drawing air into the intake bypassing the AFM. It shouldn't start. It's like a giant vacuum leak.

Yep, all sounds right to me. Why were you unplugging hoses and plugs anyway?

I'm looking to fix idle issues.

Since having the UIM off, the car isn't idling correctly (way too high). Also, the AWS wasn't working once I got it all back together. I swapped that with one from a donor car and the idle is much better. But the AWS only works sometimes now.

My idle was surging prior to the OMP line replacement so I cleaned out the BAC while it was all apart. I have read here on the forum about the idle dropping significantly and just wanted to clarify that it dropping significantly enough to stall is correct.

Thanks for your responses.
