BAC closed all the way on new rebuild

Now this is my first rebuild, so I wasn't sure to expect. I was following the start-up/break in procedure that rotaryresurrection had written up and left my car to idle at approximately 1500 rpms. With that said, the BAC is screwed in all the way, and when I loosen it, the idle raises? Does that sound about right, or have I done something wrong? Please help.

And on top of that, for some reason when I tap the brakes, the rpms dropped substantially. From about 1500 to 900 rpms?

Maybe TPS is out of adjustment.

if your timing is too far off it will also hold the idle out of base idle stage.

I do believe that the timing was set correctly. The CAS was stabbed while the red mark on the front pulley was facing the pointer on the front cover. Is that not correct? Please correct me if I'm wrong.

you can be one tooth off one way or the other even if the pointer is aligned. the teeth on the CAS don't mesh exactly always when you drop it in the center of the adjustment notch.

You INSTALL the CAS using the method you used. You set the timing using a TIMING LIGHT, with the engine rpm well under 1100 rpm or else the ECU will self advance the timing. Also the engine has to be HOT when timing it with the timing light.

One of many other things wrong is probably the brake booster feed line is not clamped down on the hose or is cut.

did you jumper the initial set couple before adjusting the idle? You have to do this, it sets the BAC valve at a fixed duty of 20% so it doesn't interfere with the idle setting procedure

Mine is yellow for leading and red for trailing if I remember correctly. I lined mine up with the yellow mark.
Maybe I am wrong.

The CAS installation procedure is in the FSM, read it and follow it exactly.
