If you have A/C, you should leave it on. It bumps up the idle when the compressor kicks in. Without it, the idle will drop and stall. If you take it off, you can adjust the idle using the "hard idle " at the throttle body. From the passenger side below the rear IC, on the throttle body near the pulleys, you'll see a small screw. Some have a stop nut around it . A small amount of turn will raise the idle so keep that in mind.
