Avg price on a rebuild?

Hi all,
I was looking for a daily beater and came across a '88 Turbo II for $1500. It already has a few bolt-ons and street ported, but the person says that the engine needs to be rebuilt.

Out of curiosity can someone post a link or give me a basic run-down on how a rotary engine is "rebuilt" and the average cost it might be for a shop to do this.

Thanks!

They have a video that will take you step by step on how to rebuild a 13b and what you will need. It tells you what tools, and all the parts. It even tells you how to measure certain parts to see if you have to replace them or not.

If you have someone else do the rebuild for you it can cost anywhere from $1,000 - 2,000.
For a rebuild kit it will cost you about $600 - 800.

~$1,200 for seal kit
~$400 for gasket kit
I charge $1,000 and go up on labor.

I have a question about rebuilding motors... I posted this in the fc3s forum so this is just a copy and paste here.

Im wondering about getting a rebuilt engine, I have right now a 13bt and the rear rotor apex seals blew out and I think the whole rear section of the motor is gone, (the rotor was kinda scared from the apex seal that broke so I figure the housing and all must be too)But the front half of the motor seems to be fine (has good compression and rotor looks good.(engine is still together I looked thru the exaust port) Now is what I want to do is take this engine and make it a n/a by putting n/a rotors in it and getting it street ported.

What Im thinking is mabee sending it to you guys and have you guys port it and instead of building it for me just getting the parts all together and sending it to me. What do you guys think, and how much do you think it would cost?

This motor will go into a s5 with a weber dcoe kind of deal.

This question goes out to anyone...

meth, if you're looking for a daily beater, you might want to look at a n/a rather than a tII unless you're planning to not mod your car that much...
