I get around 20-21 with around 60% highway driving. 89 GTU with a rebuilt engine running around 30k miles into it. Full uncollected exhaust and a cone filter while I refab my CAI.

My half-bridge TII gets about 20 mpg on the freeway, driven reasonably. When I'm driving around town its more like 15 mpg.

about 23-25 mpg combined highway city. going off how much the pump tells me (volume) and my trip odometer, i think i can get up to 28 mpg on the highway...

the things i noticed made a big difference was:
1) connected my O2 sensor that was disconnected when i bought the car
2) adjusted my TPS to 1k ohm, idle to 750, timing to spec
3) straight exahust with stock manifold

and right now i am shooting flames like no tommorow! lol
once i get the SAFC put in i'm interested to see what happens to fuel consumption...

oh yeah, one more thing to add: if you are worried about this, you bought the wrong car
but hey, i get decent consumption, so you never know...

I get about 20mpg on the highway, and roughly 15 sround town. This goes down to about 10-12mpg when I'm completely reaming my car.

Consistant 19 city and 24 highway in a '90 vert with 3k on Atkins re-build.. not bad given the weight gain over an NA

Average for a bone stock Rx-7, let's say N/A IIRC was 17/21?

I seem to get about 16/19 with 30%-40% WOT input during the tank of fuel.

Combined about 24-26 mpg, maybe 75/25 highway/city. All stock except for K&N air filter.

Hehe, my wife gets ticked about fuel consumption, but oh well. I was getting ~17mpg when I first got the car, but get ~20-23mpg depending on how I drive (one redline a day is the minimum). I've fixed up all my exhaust leaks, built a better intake setup, adjusted the TPS, and done a reground on everything (which is highly recommended, made everything smoother.) I also replaced the driveline fluids with Royal Purple gear lube, which keeps the tranny temps way down, and it all operates much smoother. My 3rd gear was crunchy when I got it, but now acts perfectly normal.

I idle at 500 now, but would like to pump it up to 750, how is this normally done? I don't trust the manuals on this kind of thing.

Woo hoo, 28 to 28.25, last three fillups. No porting, stock rebuild, no cats, couple of romps a day...90% highway...

Why do we have these threads every couple of weeks? It's not like our gas mileage is getting any better, lol...Just do a search for one from '02, same numbers will be there...

i am pretty sure i will be able to get 30+ mpg with the SAFC installed...
