pathertic? the new SE-Rs put like 137-140 to the wheels, thats 40hp loss.

I think my RX-7 still puts a good 125 to the wheels with everything i have on it.

perhaps its not as noticeable between a 125fwhp miata and a 170hp turbo miata, but between a 275fwhp lt1 and a 450fwhp S/C Lt1 its quite noticeable.
i don't want to exactly call bs on this, but i'd like to see evidence. and the miatas in question are 100whp-250whp in variance, which is similar to the example you've given.

hp Loss is a %. however it slightly changes with power. but it is certainly not a set HP.

within a few hundred hp the % will stay the same.

FWD has the lowest % 10-15, then RWD 15-20, then AWD is towards 30%

auto trannys are a few more % then standards. part of the reason standard is faster.

when you get into higher numbers like 1000 the % will be lower because if you lost 200hp in a drivetrain it would just melt itself since all power is turned to heat.

Agreed about the percentage changes with changes in power. That's why I said that % is not exactly accurate but is more accurate than a set number.

The power loss percentages of FWD, RWD and AWD presents us with a trend. That is, the heavier the drivetrain, the greater the power loss.

When pushing 1000 hp the % loss should increase not decrease. You see the 200hp drop due to the force needed to accelerate the gears etc. faster. Not all losses are due to heat.
