aux port cleaning question
hey there guys
im cleaning out my auxilary ports n was wondering if this "rod" was suppose to rotate about 180 degrees...cause mine seems to only move a little.
the auxilary port is removed this is just the "rod" that makes the port move.
thanks

both of them are not moving....they move like 5mm most...any suggestions besides taking the whole manifolds out?
side question: if the rod was able to move back n fourth ....does it retract back to starting position?
thanks

In the car still; I have placed a screwdriver on the flange and slammed my hand down on the top of the screw driver to force it to move further. Then liberal amounts of your prefered penetrant on the shaft.
If that doesn't do it, bite the bullet and order up the intake gasket set, new PD, and new oil feed lines and pull off the intake to fix it and replace the PD and oil lines all at the same time.

I was there. The rear Actuator rod would not budge more tha 3 mm's. I actually took them out using Sears Craftman Screw Extractor and gave them a real good cleaning.
Although the screw was badly damaged, I managed to put It back on. I ordered the screw (yes, nothing but original- took the usual week and a half) It held up 'till I swapped It with that of new ones.

No the former. I figured that my Intake was out I was going to replace the Air Lines to that of Silicon ones, replace the Fuel Lines, have Fuel Injectors machine cleaned, block off the OMP and accessories, clean the Intake with a wire brush wheel hooked up to a drill (turned out fantastic btw) and scrub out the entire Intake revealing half a cup of carbon. Car ran like nothing I've seen before, after doing this. Highly recommended!!!
wow half a cup of carbon.....thats a ******* lot..in that case... i think i will bite the damn bullet and order up some parts since i really need to get that PD changed...i smell loads of fumes under the car ... thanks for all the help guys
Mostly In the Lower Manifold. Be sure to order new gaskets and the 3 part o-ring, grommet kit for the FI's. Scrub the Intake dry first with one of those rodded brushes to get the bulk out than soak severally Castrol Super Clean for an hour. Rinse and repeat. Another shot than wire brush It followed by another rinse than dry with a rag. This will get you ready for a good time.
