Autox specific exhaust question....
Autox specific exhaust question....
Hi,
I suddenly noticed this nice '90 GTUs parked in my garage for the last ten forevers. I'd like to get it road worthy with the specific intention of competing in either STS or CSP.
• assume no porting
• assume Rtek or similar ECU
• STS requires working emissions; CSP does not
• I have a nice Mazda Comp stainless steel header on a shelf, but no details on what it's optimized for
• I have zero expectations of competitiveness. It would be nice to be a local contender, but I don't really plan on going to Nationals.
Goals:
• broadest torque band possible
• lightest weight possible
• must pass sound regs for SF Bay Area autox
What would be the recommendation for very high quality exhaust system?
One idea I'm pondering would be long primary with separate catalytic converters for each pipe, collected at factory Y-pipe location. Mufflers undecided.
Thoughts welcome.
Regards,
Rob
