Autophonics 255lph Fuel Pumps? Any experience?

Has anyone had any experience with Autophonics 255 lph fuel pumps? They claim they're as good as (or better than) Walbro, but quieter. They say that they are US based, so it's not China junk. I'm just hesitant in trying one out without getting some feedback.

personally i've never had any issue with real walbro pumps. i'd avoid these knockoffs like the plague.

and a quick google search with nothing on "autophonics", plus i simply don't know what to think about a company named "autophonics" unless it was based on audio equipment.

sounds like a kid selling crap from his garage with cheap parts with a quick business name which will be gone tomorrow.

i used to have a knockoff walbro, it did last many years but eventually hydrolocked and intermittently the car wouldn't start unless i let it sit for 15 minutes. the pump would run but there was no fuel pressure. i suspect this may be the same "upgraded" 255lph quiet wannabe walbro pump.

because many people claim walbros are garbage.

but i tell you what. the one 255lph pump i have had the most testing with lasted over 40k miles pushing 450whp with a boost a pump cooking it up to 17VDC.

he pulled that walbro out and put a denso TT pump in about 8 months ago, i put the walbro into my car(replacing the wannabe walbro knockoff that i had in there) and have been using it for almost a year now. the denso he replaced it with gave up on the dyno after just 4k break in miles under the same conditions that the walbro held up to for many years.

we went with the walbro 400lph pump and it worked fine where the denso TT pump failed miserably.

problem with many pumps is people do inadequate wiring jobs or do not rewire them at all, also the pump is cooled through the body so running the tank down below 1/4 constantly is shocking it's cooling whenever gas splashes onto the case, so try to keep the tank at least above 1/4 tank most of the time.

Interesting info. Never figured in the cooling aspect of the pump.
