My 1990 vert automatic will not shift into fourth gear. Hold light flashes on speedo gauge. Dealer in Phoenex said that the problem is the turbine speed sensor and that their mechanic found it was reading the transmission speed incorrectly. They said that when they check it that it did not read out sufficient ohms. Should be 8 ohms. Mechanic tried to reprogram it but it did not work. I could not find any reference to this item in either the search function of in the hayes manual. Does anyone have any experience with this problem or can they tell me how to repair it. Regards, Bill Welters.

i would suggest testing the resistance of the Turbine sensor, if it is within spec remove it and be sure it doesn't have any metal debris on it. also check the hold switch and its circuit wiring.
