automatic -> 5sp neutral switch wiring
Threadjacking bastards? That's the way you treat those trying to help?, lol...
That WAS fun there for a while
Neutral switch has continuity in neutral, all other shifter positions it's open. Pin 1G on the S4's, on the autos that pin just goes straight to ground...It's the blue wires on the tranny harness...
Did that help, or am I threadjacking again?

Ya bastards weren't helping me though, ya were helping each other! So basically, you're saying that I'm going to need to stick in a relay of sorts, so that in neutral it shows 0v and in gear it'll show +12v, there seems to be no mechanism for providing +12v when it's not in gear?

jumping the neutral switch like that would basically mean it's in gear all the time, but i don't want that since my damn car goes into closed loop at idle!
The ECU provides the 12v at the pin. When the switch is closed (in neutral), yeh, you'll be reading 0v at the ECU, because the switch is grounding it. And vice-versa...
Why do you need a relay?
Sorry I didn't get the whole story, but what is causing all this grief with the neutral switch?

Ahh, you're right, that's OUT from the ECU, sorry, I'm was misreading it thinking that the wirign was providing that TO the ecu. Thanks.

Nope, not quite. However, I've got so many issues with this car I could fill 32 of those with all the issues. Such as my bouncing at anything over idle when cold (bounces at anything from 1k to 4k, but idles just fine, TPS is fine, no vac leaks found.) and the fact that it can boost 6psi in neutral.

Yes, I've got 3:
'87 sport 6port turbo w/ na ecu & safc
'89 GTUs supercharging project. n/a ecu w/safc2
'89 GXL-II 4port turboII engine (streetported/etc) w/ tII ecu/etc

Almost sounds like your 3k startup circuitry is messing with you, then it's cutting fuel for ya too, kind of like laughing at you
So which car are we talking about here?
Do you have the air bypass relay & solenoid valve still on the car?

Haha, yes, I am. Working just fine at the moment. However, I can't get this stuff figured out on the damn car that's running the ecu on it's own
Ahh, those S5's are like aliens to me, lol...
I might have to get one in the future so I can "disect" it, eh?
Then when I think about it, one is enough, lol...
It's bed time, have fun guys...
