Ok, I hope someone knows this answere. I was reading some thread in there last week about trannies. I have a 87 N/A automatic. From reading the post it was saying we have Ford manufactured trannys.

So does someone know what the tranny is called and if so, is it built from ford and what other car does it go into? Im asking cause I would like to get a B&M shift kit or overhaul kit and they only make them for american cars. no imports they told me.

IF i can get the right tranny numbers from ford iI would be able to call up B&M or go to jegs and order the kit there by telling them what amercian tranny i Had. I guess I wouuld have to tell them a year and make of amercian car model sence that is what they go by.

My tranny shift fine but I would like to keep it that way and perhaps make it a bit better.

 

no one knows? or did one ever look into this? or just didnt want to bother with the auto?
