auto --> 5 speed : TPS adjustment ?

The swap is finished. I have an S5 N/A

Tried to lowered my idle to 750.... but it doesn't behave well. With the A/C on, it stops when I break with the clutch pressed. So I put it back at 950, everthing seemed to be fine.

But NOOOOOO, there had to be something.

When park and I just slowely press on the gaz it stumbles when it reach the revs it supposed to go. Dropps for 400 rpm then come back. Back and forth. But the best is : when the A/C is on, it behaves ok !!!!

1- So I'm woundering, do I have to adjust my TPS after the auto --> 5 speed swap ?
2- Is it a problem that I had but the auto trans was "hiding" it ?
3- Is it my BAC valve that is not good ? (My idle is lower with my A/C ON and I don't think it's normal...)
4- Did I mess something up playing with the Idle srew ?

I'm gone take out my throttle body and my BAC valve to clean them and check them (wont do no arm...), but I would really appreciate if you have any ideas about what's going on...

Thanks

Nic

I have a similar problem i believe you have to adjust idle then the tps, i havent gotten around to doing it yet since the coolest writeup i found is on reted's website but thats for a s4 t2, ill try to use that as a reference... so what type of method did you use to get the transmisison to mount? i just used a modified version of v8killa's method + a small bend in the auto crossmember. everything sits stock location, compared it back and forth with two cars hehehe.

Other way around boys, you have to adjust TPS, then idle.

I usually do timing, TPS, idle.

If you have an S5 and your TPS is acting funny, it's most lilkely shot. It'll drive, but it'll never be perfect.

If your car is still acting funny the next time I come up to Montreal, I wouldn't mind stopping by and helping you out if you need it.

hmm ok i've notice i cant get the car to idle right under 900 rpm... -=(....

can a screwed up tps, or wrong adjustment cause high idle? its smooth, but higher than normal.

a bunch of things can cause rough idles. Tommy has a vacuum leak right now, and we're having problems stabilizing the idle below 900, it's pretty lopey.

TPS, timing, idle speed control, vacuum leaks, these are just some of the things to look for.

There's a thread in the archive about how to fix your idle, i wonder if it's still there?

P.S. Sprung 4-puck in now......can be slightly annoying but getting used to it. Grips great though.

i believe i corrected my tps as accurately as it can get to what the ecu sees, i just adjusted it to close to 1 volt output (1.010 vdc) and my idle SLAMED into 700-800... i think my bacv or whatever the name is (i forget) is bad as my idle dont jump up with a/c on and doesnt catch idle as well after revving it drops to 500~ and jumps quickly back to 800.. very very lopey at 1000-3000 rpm, then smooth as butter now this is really getting to me and it definitly isnt misfiring, as the this is like.. surging.
lol....
