auto to 5 speed conversion?

Hey i just got a 1986 rx7 and the car is amazing but its an auto. I was thinking about changing it to a 5spd but it wont be for a while. I was wondering just how hard it is and how much it would cost for parts to change it to a 5spd? Any help is greatly apreciated.

best get a donar car need pedals master + slave cylinder not sure about the prop if its the same length i think there is a different ratio in the diff. you need fly wheel, clutch and the box. the interior is different i so gonna need bits to make good. lots of work.

bs on that one. im doing it now.

it is a pain in the ***, but it can be done and depending on what parts you buy depend on price. my tranny was 100, my clutch was 150 from gripforce clutches on ebay (great people and fast shipping), and i got a steel lightweight flywheel from RB for close to 400 i think. my pedal assembly came out of my old car that i had blown the engine in, my manual gauge cluster i got for free from my friend jerry. shifter came with the tranny, i already had the rubber boots that go around the shifter, and i think thats all you need to do it. the fc3s thread that was posted is a great right up, but if you search someone else posted another thats a little different.

there is also a write up on how to do the wiring for the 5th gear, reverse lights and neutral safety switch.

id send you all the write ups, but im at school so i dont have them bookmarked.

if you want to save time, buy a manual car, but its a good thing to know incase you get a friend with a 7 that needs to become manual.

good luck
