auto 2 5spd problem

Hello, I have an 88 na rx7, basicly stock, auto. milage unkown(rebuilt motor) I am in the process of doing the 5spd swap, and all Ive done so far to this car is swap out the pedals. (w the clutch lines) the brake pedal and clutch pedal. After swapping these pedals in, I go to move the car(still auto) but when I reconnected the bettery terminals, the 3rd brake light stays on no matter what, no electronics work and the car wont do anything when i turn the key.

so WTF could I have done to make it this way? I didnt touch anything other than the pedals. I didnt touch the trans, or any connectors, all I did was install the pedals and cmc/slave. I check the connections down there like 20 min ago and I could not find anything that would indicate I moved any wires... **** just dosent make sense.

Anyone have this problem before?

The 3rd brake light uses the same wire, Green in color, to power the other brake lights. Are you saying that the only brake light lit up is the 3rd brake light and not all of them?

That is indeed what I am saying. stumped, I am. The 3rd light turns on as soon as I connect the battery, and does not change.

It's a little early for Halloween but I guess anything is possible especially if it defies logic. At the brake pedal there is a two wire plug with a W/G wire and a G/W wire. The W/G wire only should have voltage with the pedal depressed. If the brake is not depressed then the stop light switch should not be activated and therefore the W/G wire should not have voltage. Check this W/G wire for voltage.

If I understood correctly you also say none of your electronics work with the key in the ignition. With the key to the on position check to see if the wipers and turn signals work. If they don't then check the 80 amp Main fuse in the engine fuse box. This particular fuse is screwed into place from the side of the fuse box.

I think the brake light switch is missing the button on the inside, therefore always being on, but that dosent really explain why the other tail lights and the headlights and parking lights wont turn on.......... Thank you for your input very much, I am going to check that fuse tomorrow. i been effin w this ish all night. im tired.

Check to see if the battery terminals are connected to the correct posts. Once you've done that and if you have problems with all the lights and other electronics working if that is your problem then make sure the engine fuse box is receiving power from the positive terminal of the battery. On the side of the fuse box closest to the battery is a Black wire. Make sure this wire has voltage on it as all the engine fuses receive power from this one Black wire. If the Black wire has voltage then make sure that the Black wire on the opposite side of the fuse box has voltage as well.

Ok, so i was right, and the button in the brake light switch was on the floor, i put it back where it belonged, and fixed that. There was also a plug that must have gotten knocked out somehow, but the car starts and the project is back on track. Thanks for your help.
