Audio problems, help appreciated.
Hey guys, I have a bit of a problem my cd deck will just not turn on seems as though there is just no power going to the deck at all, checked fuses and they seem to be fine.
Not really adept as the audio aspect of cars so, anyone have any idea what I can try next? the car is a 1990 that was recently swapped from an N/A to a T2, has a mircotech lt10 as well. Any help would be appreciated, thanks again.

Well you could go to radio shack and get a cheap multi meter tester and check the connections behind the head unit to see if there is constant power, and power when you turn the key on. Or if you have a computer fan laying around you could use that as a tester as well. It's pretty easy to get at the cd player to check connections.

thanks for the suggestion, I'm going to go ahead and do that today. However on another question, is there a possibility that when the swap was being done/microtech being wired that something important could've been severed? Afaik we never messed with audio but maybe someone else could throw some input
Will post after i check the connections, thanks again for the help.

I'm going to assume it's an sftermarket cd player. If so, get a cheap multimeter, and set it to measure volts. A good tip is to get a meter that has a set of small alligator clips for the leads. Then clip your black lead to a good ground on the car, and then with your red lead from the meter probe the yellow wire coming off the back of the cd player...it should have 12v all the time key on or off. If you get that...then probe the red wire coming off the back of the deck...it should show 0 volts with the key off and 12v with the key on. Then if your meter has a continuity test mode...turn it to that and touch the red lead of you rmeter to the black wire of the radio...this will check to see if you're getting a good ground. If all those wires do what they're suppose to then the radio should be turning on. If not...something is amiss with your deck...now if it turns on, but you're not getting any sound, then something is amiss with your speaker wiring, or the outputs of your player.
