Audio Problems

Ok I got a new radio. I installed it with the harness bought from best buys. No sound. Radio turns on and plays the music. I thought the speakers were bad but they were reading 4 ohms like they should. Put one in the rear and it works. I can hear sound. I don't have speakers in the rear only in the front dash. So I thought maybe the harness connect might be twisted so I plugged the one for the rear speakers to the front one and vice versa and still no sound, but I still have sound in the rear. Now im stumped, by checking the schemtics, it shows that there is nothing in between the harness from the radio to the connector to the front dash speakers, only for the right, which is the factory amp. Also, the write up on the FAQ, it says the front speakers are
LtGreen/Red= Left
LtGreen/Black= Left

LtGreen= Right
LtGreen/Yellow=Right,

but in the schemtics it shows that those are for door speakers and I dont have door speakers. It also shows that there isn't a plug separately for the front and rear speakers. It is all on one connect. Only a splice futher down. Please help me fiqure this out why they arent turning on. Thanks

S4??? S5???

Either way it sounds like you have a amp on the front speakers that is not wired up. Did you hook up the factory amp wire (white)??? To the amp turn on output of the aftermarket radio (probably blue/white)???

And on coupes (you didn't say if this was a vert or a coupe) the door speakers are just woofers, and wired together (either through an amp or directly) with the dash speakers.

So what exactly do you hook up to the front amp? I finally pulled out the stereo and the speaker amp isn't hooked up, which explains why my fronts never worked. I don't see anything else on the stereo to hook it up too, though.

Just bypass the stock amp altogether, its only like 10-15 watts anyway, a new head unti pumps more than that and may overload it. Just straight wire teh new speakers to the head unit.

Ok, thats what my original plan was. What do you do about the passenger side speaker, though? It is all connected in to a wiring harness.
Edit: Or is that whole big assembly the amp itself? Thats what it looks like from the fsm, at least.

I just drilled a hole in the back. Connected up the wire directly and now it works. Awesome.
