OK...About the adapter.....2.5" is a little small...I wish I had made mine 2.75". The reason is that the compressor sits VERY close to the ACV area, and I had to make a custom blockoff plate for the ACV, and drill and tap a new hole in the lower intake to mount it...I would have much rather made a standard blockoff plate, and used the stock mounting holes...Remember that you will need to cut a good chunk out of the inner fender to make space for the wastegate actuator, so 1/4" here or there isn't going to mattter. Just don't make it smaller than 2.5", or you will have no chance...
About that hole in the inner fender, it is a good idea to weld some extra metal in there to strengthen it back up after you cut it....I used 1 foot long strips of 4mm thick steel, about 2 CM wide...I also "boxed in" the hole.
As for the custom piping, how exactly do you measure the bends in a pipe? I have not made mine yet, but I would like to make a template after I do...Basicall, I will be renting a "power bender" and just bending them to fit as I need them...The intercooler piping is rather easy, but the downpipe...Ouch...Some pretty nasty compound bends there....
