attn: electrical gurus! Voltage drop (12 volts)from using logicon?
I have searched and came up with nothing! problem in 87 n/a manual I just checked battery, alternator( read as swapped out for a new one) and checked for loose connections in the wires behind the logicon. when i turn on the blower system, the voltage drops at least 2 volts on the gauge and idle sufffers as well. it started by me starting my car and turning the heater on, then i began hearing a bad whiring noise from the dashboardlike zzzziiirrrrrrnnngggg increasing in speed, and then it just started dropping the volts whenever i turn on the blower. other accessories do not have much effect at all on the voltage, only the venilation system/logicon. please heeeelllllllpppp. i am not great at diagnosing electrical problems.

Sounds like the bearings in your blower motor are about dead. The excessive friction is causing the motor to use much more current than it usually does, thus dropping your voltage (which is also an indication of a sticking/slow BAC valve). Replace the blower motor. I wouldn't use it until you replace it, since the excessive current draw is very bad for the logicon.

The blower motor is VERY easy to remove too - if you look under the passenger side of the dash, it's the round thing. 3 screws takes it out. The whole motor/fan drops out of the blower assembly.
Should be dead easy to find a good used one too.
You might just have something caught up in the blower motor, like a bunch of leaves or a dead rat or something .

If the AC goes on (do you have AC?), you're talking about a 10A-15A current draw!  The blower fan itself is going to take at least 5A of current.  If you don't know it already, the stock alternator SUCKS - I doubt it can handle 10A of current demand at idle speed.  What you're seeing is normal; as long as it hits over 13VDC at 3k-4k RPM, that's how the stock alternator is...
