attery fully charged, clicking noise, won't start
I have a 1990 RX-7 convertible non rotary. Battery has a full charge and when I try to start and turn the key it makes a repeating clicking sound. Is this a starter issue? Or solenoid issue? How do I fix this? Thanks.

So not I replaced the battery cause I was getting a code of a short. Now the new battery doesn't start the car. Low growl. And I get an "alternator output out of typical operation range. New alternator?

Where do you see that error message? One thing you can do it pull or push start the car since it is manual. I have had problems starting where I had a vacuum leak or something else a miss and pull started it the first time. After that I was usually able to start it.
I would get a voltmeter and check the voltage on battery and then by the starter. Maybe try to manually connect the starter so it turns over and see what happens. You just gotta check 1 think at a time until you see where the problem is or isn't. Alternator would not stop your car from starting.
