Exclamation Fuel Pump on my N/A?Bad?

Hey,

I am tryin to figure out what is wrong with my 88 N/A. I have changed my plugs, wires, & fuel filter. It will crank but won't start up. It ran fine till one day it just stopped on the interstate. I popped the clutch, but when I hit the gas it seemed to do nothing. Now it won't start, and my new battery is dead. I charged the battery and tried to start it, and it won't turn on. Now a day later the battery is dead. I am goin to check my fuel pump, i found it now how do I check it? Also anyone that knows whats wrong please help. Thanks alot.

Chris

Go to my website and look through my online FSM. It will help tons. Also, it was at idle, then you poped the clutch? You weren't very clear with the description. Also, check your AFM and check the ECU for error codes. That will help you/us out more than anything.

I was driving on the interstate when the car lost power kind of. When I let off the gas and clutch it died while still goin. I popped the clutch to "jump start" it and then I pushed the gas. The gas was like not workin. The RPMs did not correspond with me pushin the gas. It has not started since. Thanks for your reply, more help would be appreciated.

A few first things to check are

#1 Check the ECU codes. Those will help you determine more than anything else on the car.

#2 Check all visible connections on the engine. Also check your fuses in the engine box and in the kickpanel one

#3 Check to make sure you have gas (this sounds funny, but the gauges break sometimes)

When you have checked those, let me know what you got and we will go from there,

Thanks for replying

#1 I do not know how I can check the ECU codes, please give more info

#2 I have checked all the connections in the engine bay along with the fuses in there, will check the ones in the kick panel tomorrow morn.

#3 I have plenty of gas

And if its not a fuse, got any more ideas?

Thank you,
Chris
