I always wondered why I couldn't get them to fit just right, and now I see that maybe the problem was with the product, and not my install, hence the head scratch.

Then you post a pic that doesn't have the hangers installed correctly, and tell me I fail??

Actually, the install is part of the solution. There is a bit of slop at the bolting points that can be taken up. This got alignment a lot closer, so only minor heat and tweak was needed to the piping to make alignment perfect.

This is what I did that helped.

Jack up the back of your car, put on jack stands. Loosen the bolts on either end of the presilenser. Now put your jack under the left side of the y-pipe and jack up until a bit beyond level. Now re-tighten the presilencer bolts, then release the jack. You should be a lot closer to level. This will obviously lift the left muffler as well. Take a grand total of 15 minutes if you're taking your time.

I'd be interested if the "13" responders adjusted the slop and then comment how close to level you got it.

my old n/a racing beat full exhaust sat lower on the drivers side too. It was installed on 3 different FCs, all were lower on the drivers side. my TII with racing beat turbo back doesnt have the problem, seems to only happen with n/a 2.5" version

It helped some but there is still a noticeable difference in tip height between left and right.

My personal passenger side tilting issue was with a new RB Rev II. But my old school RB RevII exhaust lined up perfectly.

So, not exclusive to RB Cat Backs, NA or otherwise.

My 2.5" turboback was way off alignment. One was also shorter than the other.

I had the muffler shop lengthen one side, and bend the other side as well.

Bent the left muffler, and lengthened the right side. I had/have brand new hangers, and donuts.

Before taking it to the muffler shop, I did the slop procedure, and everything else. I really didn't want to butcher the exhaust. Turns out I had no choice.

Result:

First I've heard a longer/shorter story. There wasn't any prior body damage situation that might have caused this?

Nice mud flaps by the way. I keep getting hit up from Wankleheads wanting mine. I AM the mud flap king!!

checkin' in with the old school RSR/RB turbo exhaust.

i suppose mine's ok... but i wish for it to be a little more flush to the bumper?
i think the exhaust pokes a lil outward too, kinda like a pair of "lazy eyes".
they aren't really pointing straight back... or at least i think they do.

There is a possibility. The car was in a minor accident way back, but it has been repaired since. You can still see a defect in the way they straightened the tail light area. I did purchase the exhaust used though, so it might have been altered by the previous owner even.

With that said, you could maybe count me out, since I didn't purchase mine brand new.

Mudflaps

I'm gonna keep em for as long as I can, but when those odula sidesteps show up, I'm gonna have to part with these babies...

This is way too much discussion for a simple 10 minute/-$10 fix. When I first got the car my left rear muffler was sagging too:

After some different exhaust hangers...

I call dibs on em! When you getting your new sidesteps?

Oh, and on topic... I just reinstalled my REV TII exhaust today and it hangs lower and off center on the left tip. I'll take a pic tomorrow.

KhanArtist, now it looks like your right is sagging?

Juice,

I don't know when I'll give them up, the group buy isn't active yet, and I've yet to send in my deposit.

heh, not sure if I have a RB, all that was on the car when I got it from my father in law and he took it to a mechanic all the time so I am sure he doens't know, however mine also hangs low on the left, never looked at the Y pipe to see if that was low as well but my tips are just like Natey's so I would assume that my y pipe is also off.. who knows cause I'm on the other side of the world as my car so depressing can't drive the Rex.. oh well...
I have plans on buying headers and everything else back, duals all the way, I'll post up fitment when its done, gonna be like 2 months though

Man your car looks amazing!!! Nice work with muffler tip placement. I think I'm gonna take mine to a muffer shop. I hate how the tips stick out.

My left tip is perfect, it just sticks out. My right tip is angles up and hits the bumper.

The S5 rear bumpers have a "deck" that protrudes along the bottom edge. That's why the mufflers look flush. They will stick out on an s4 since the bumper is smooth all the way down. I personally like it that way!

Got it. I'm not changing bumper so I guess ill just tweak the exhaust to fit right and live with the "stingers".

Bought my REV II back when they first converted to stainless (2004?) front flange is still mild steel.

Sags on driver's side (right) by ~2cm with all new mounts and lots of fiddling.

Here is my pic. Should have taken more pics but this is the only one I took.

Only things hanging under the car are the presilencer & catback and one donut is missing from the presilencer support. I should probably buy all new exhaust hangers.
