Atkins coolant seals with 1 white side

The last time we put this engine together the outside coolant seals had two white sides and two black side so you could tell if the seal rolled on you.
But, these Atkins seals have only one white side. So, does the white side face up or does the black side face up like before.

To my knowledge you can put them up or down as long as they're not sideways. They should be taller than they are wide and you want them standing tall in the slot. hope this helps

white sides always go against the coolant seal wall, shouldn't matter if it is on the inside edge or the outside edge. should not be the side that actually seals top or bottom of the channel to rotor housing.

Thanks. That what I was thinking but the longer I thought about it the more I started thinking that the white should face up, since there was only one white side. But, when I placed it white side up the seal was almost flat so I figured I had better find out which way was correct.

thanks again ben
