apex seals?

How difficult is it to replace an apex seal? does that involve a total rebuild? I ask because I have a totally mint 91 arizona rx-7 with a blown motor and i found one locally that needs an apex seal replace, but has lots of extras for my car, ie- cool air intake, turbo 2, strut brace, four piston calipers, you get the picture. The guy wants only 800 bucks for it but it has a bad apex seal, is that too much work to swap motors? Any info someone would have on the amount of work going into this project would help greatly. I can do all my own work, but this is my first rotary. Thanx

An apex seal replacement is a rebuild.

There is no difference in the scope of the job, only in the quality or condition of the parts you put back in.

My 7 is my daily driver, so down time is a big factor.
I'm going with a low mileage J-spec swap.
