Some people are just not nice ummm the apex seals are on the rotor so mainly the way to get to the rotor in the engine is to take apart the engine.

You will be better off just rebuilding it completely...thast depending on the price you are going to get the car for.

Theres plenty of ways to do a rebuild you can spend alot of money and buy everything new or just buy what broke or failed in your engine if you are in a tight spending limit. I warn you if you go cheap it will bite you in the end so choose your parts wisely.Try these search options ....REBUILD-APEX SEALS- ENGINE COST- REUSABLE PARTS, FAQ,REBUILD VIDEO,OVERHAUL KIT....ETC and you should find an answer.

TO THOSE WHO SIMPLY JUST TOLD THIS PERSON TO SEARCH AND NOT EVEN POINT HIM TO THE RIGHT DIRECTION NEED TO RELAX, help a fellow rotor head out

Yeah, like others have said, if "...the apex seal is bad." the engine will need to be rebuilt or replaced. Figure on a cost of $800-$2,500 depending on whether you do it or you have someone else do it.

A bad apex seal requires a engine rebuild. Typically it is not just one, it is all three, because when one goes, there is a cascade effect taking out the other two. This results in a damaged rotor and housing.

If it is an NA, and you havent damaged the rotor housings, you can buy an o-ring and gasket kit and some new apex seals and springs, for less than $500 probably. If this isn't a performance engine and it didn't have unusually high mileage to begin with you should be ok, just make sure you measure everything to spec.

If it is carbon locked, seafoam can help clear it up probably. Or marvel mystery oil soaking in the engine can help i hear too.

i know and i quoted it for reiteration since everyone else is helping him along the lines of "your motor is toast". no need to blow a hole in a ship if it isn't sinking but just because everyone is telling you they think it has a hole in it.

well like it was said, if one seal is bad then all three of em are prolly toast, the housing may not be COMPLETELY gone but it will probably have a bunch of dings in it from the lil pieces floating round in there. So there's 2 ways of finding out, 1. tear the block apart and have a hell of a time or 2. have someone else do it and sit at home and be bored as hell
