Anything and Everything Transmission!!!!

So i have finally broke down and decided to change my clutch. I'm putting in an oem replacement (its my dd) and I will also be changing my front differential mount that's bad. So couple questions before i dive into this project. Where do i need to buy the differential mount, its a Mazda part only right. Next i will be adding the pinion snubber, this needs to just be an approx 4" long by 3 1/8" thick rubber headed bolt (or something like that) What else should i be considering on replacing while I'm under her. Trans Fluid, seals, other mounts. I have an 86 Fc with 313,000 miles and counting, the engine was supposed to been changed but no clue on the tranny.

Any thought on the clutch kit i bought are welcome. Is it a good deal or did i get screwed. http://www.clutchcityonline.com/products/10-025.shtml

I would think you local parts store would have a better price than that.

if your pullin your tranny, you might as weel change the seals and bushings while its out its alot easier
the seal around the speedometer drive gear, at the end of the tranny where the driveshaft slides in and change the shifter bushings,
they're all cheap and will save you some hassle later on

Definitely change your Pilot bearing and Throw out Bearing.you do not want to put that Clutch in and then find out that one ofthose Bearings have taken a Dump on you.(I did,DUH!..and I cursed the damn thing, flung it into a tree when I got the Trans out,the Second time!).
if you want to Go Snakey, then check the Seal on the front of the Trans(input shaft).Maybe change the rear Tail seal also.
Synthetic Oil comes to mind when Changing also.Good smooth shifts Result from this.
Changing your Front Diff mount,It's your call.

Redline MT-90

Do not use a GL-5 oil in a Mazda transmission. Only a GL-4, and Redline MT-90 is one of the best.

If you don't go with Redline, then a good GL-4 at either a 90W or 85W90 or in worst case 75W90 will be your other choice

Competition Version: http://www.mazdatrix.com/getprice.as...m=28-6800-FCY1

Stock:http://www.mazdatrix.com/getprice.as...m=28-9800-FC01

(Competition - does not have weight/block on front, and rubber is stiffer)(Mazdatrix)

Yea i saw that, but my question was which one should i buy, not what my options are. Is there a reason the Competition (that doesnt have the weight/block on front) is so much cheaper, will it matter about that block. And does anyone know the part number for the mazda dealer mount or price from the dealership. I called today and the only differintial mount they could find was the rear. Should i look into replacing my differential fluid, and what fluid should i use for it, really like the Redline idea.

The competition one does not have the forward block, meaning it has less material on the mount. This is my guess at the reduced cost.

If you are going to put in a snubber you might as well buy the stiffer mount as this will further alleviate problems with that mount.

Is there anything special that needs to be done when swapping to synthetic fluids?
Like do i need to get all of the old fluid out?
Im also replacing my diff fluid with redline's 75W90 Synthetic Gear Oil. How does that sound?

I got the Synthetic Gear Oil $25 shipped for 12q, tell me thats not a good deal!!!

Drain old fluid, add new fluid.

If you are paranoid you can fill with the new fluid, and then drain that to get rid of all of the old stuff and then fill with new again.
