Anyone using the Racing Beat Road Race header s4 NA(one w/backpressure tube)?
Im thinking about getting this header for my car, but i really dont know what im going to need after buying it... I really dont want to buy their presilencer that costs another 225 bucks
I was also wondering how well this backpressure tube works at opening the 5/6 ports, opposed to the stock setup (im assuming u ditch the old setup using the backpressure from the cat with this ?)

im going to keep the 5/6 ports actuated , but i just donno how u need to setup the exhaust after the header. I dont know what is compatible wit the flange on the end , if u need to use the rb presliencer cuz i dont want to really its too expensive.. i plan on getting the corksport exhaust and a straight pipe in place of the cat .
still really dont understand the actuator tube thing...... Does this get rid of the stock actuation from the cat ?

Oops, The full RB system replaces the cats soo, their tube comes off the pre-silencer If you're just geting the header, and keeping the cats, you're good to go.............................

i still dont understand the setup that much, it says " An Air Control and Check Valve Cover Plate (Intake Components – PN 16325) is required when using this header with a stock intake system. "
With that id be able to ditchmy airpump and run a str8 pipe in place of the cat...right ? My only concern is how well this backpressure tube will open my 5/6 ports...cuz being a header i wouldnt think it would have any backpressure...
No 1 has this header in their na rx7 or has used it ?

I just bought the complete road race dual exhaust and its sitting in my garage right now...
I had previously purchased & installed just the RB single header and a "catalyzer" cheater piece to fit before the "Y" pipe. The "catalyzer" I had was from MazdaTrix (in the "Gray Area" exhaust section)it had a fitting for the air tube on it and was pretty expensive($500 something!!) & sounded like a metal barrel filled with giant pissed-off bumble bees!! lol
I have the installation instructions right here for the Road Race Dual System. So... yes you will have to: "Remove the air pump with its mounting bracket & belt and also the air control & check valve assembly mounted on the side of the lower intake manifold nearest the right fender well. It is held in place by either 3 bolts or three nuts depending on the year of manufacture. Use the triangular cover plate and 3 small screwsprovided by Racing Beat to cover the void that resulted from the AC&CV removal. Re-use the original gasket and also apply an adequate amount of gasket sealer. If the valve was originally held in place by 3 studs, these will need to be removed to allow installation of the 3 screws provided. Insert the red plastic plug into the air cleaner fitting preiously serving as an air inlet source for the air pump."
There is a threaded hole for the oxygen sensor & a small rubber hose that goes to the fitting on the header for the actuators.
I purchased the AC&CV cover plate because the narrative stated that one would be required, but when the parts came there was a plate with the header with the screws & everything - so I now have 2 plates(it was only 6$ anyway!)
BTW - the quality on this system is really nice & heavy & cool looking too. You will see right away where your money went. If you think you are gonna save some bucks with some cheapo exhaust parts consider this -- my car has burnt up the stock cats & 2 sets of mufflers (99,500 miles).. the factory cans and some Midas lifetime warranty ones. I could've tried to get the Midas ones replaced, but it was my fathers car & he passed away a few years ago. So much for "lifetime" warranty.
I also purchased at the same time a K&N filter kit & the engine to header gasket and a complete set of rubber exhaust hangers. I haven't had a chance to do the install yet. I guess I'll be selling the old single header and the "catalyzer" as soon as I'm done with the the new Dual system install.
I hope this helps
