So I was wondering if anyone would recommend using an aftermarket filter like these.

In my opinion, it makes it easier next time the fuel filter needs to be replaced. Just unscrew the housing and slap in a new filter.
The replacement filters are cheaper than dirt too.

 

Whats wrong with a stock replacemant one? A wix fuel filter for our cars is only around $15.

I guess in the long run price could be a little cheaper.
I was mainly interested in getting an aftermarket filter due to the serviceability, and possibly better filtration than a stock unit.

 

the aereo automotive filter is very nice I have used them in the past (not on a 7) however in most cases the stock filter is plenty enough...

I guess it depends on application (racing/street), and how **** RETENDENT you are if you just want to spend the buck for better filtration.. :0)

Some of the filters on the Jegs site aren't rated for high pressure fuel injection.

 

Where can I get it for $15? A fuel filter is $30 on Mazdatrix.

 

I just got off the phone with O'Reillys to make sure, for a Wix fuel filter it is $16.35.
