The road race header doesnt have the presilencer, right?
I have the regualar RB header with presilencer and N1 exhaust and its perfectly fine for street use. My personal reccomendation would be to get a presilencer. The presilencer reduces the noise a whole lot, plus it gets rid of the rotary buzz, which is alot of the problem. I was runningn basically an open header for about a week, and the presilencer makes a huge difference.

We have a similar setup on our ITS race car with a Dynomax muffler. We regularly sound check at 101+dB. You really don't want this system for a street car! Grab a couple of the RB pre-silencer and throw in the middle. They're expensive but are the best thing around to quiet a rotary.

I drove around open manifold for a couple days thanks to old, broken pipes... never again will I run this thing unmuffled. It's still very loud for the street with a Bonez (resonated) race pipe and a CS catback, but that's as loud as I'll go.

For a short time, I ran a pacesetter header, test pipe, and the CS. That was seriously obnoxious after I blew out the silencer.

Soon, It'll be a stock turbo, RB downpipe/presilencer, and the CS. Here's hoping it'll be much quieter then my current.

I agree. I drove mine for a little while with an open header and DAMN. I was afraid to floor it because it was so loud. It actually reminded me watching a top fuel dragster. Not quite that loud but close. I was setting off car alarms accross the street, and my wife could hear me inside the house for several miles. A muffler might make a difference, but I dont know how much. Its the presilencer that does most of it on a rotary.
