Anyone run open Downpipe at the track?
Just wondering if anyone has ran open downpipe at the track for more power or weight savings? I'm heading out the track this sunday for the last race of the year, and i want to go all out. I have a trailer and tow vehicle ready, so its ***** to the wall racing. I was thinking about removing the midpipe and catback section of my cs exhaust for weight savings and just more flow. Wategate is 40mm and doesnt creep at all with the exhaust. Do you figure i might experience creep? I have enough fuel mods and an rtek1.7 chip for as much boost as the stock turbo can put out, so I shoudl be fine there.
Another conern I had was if I shot flames or something. Thats probably not good to have fire under the car lol. Can anyone attest to this happening? The car is in a good state of tune, as my last set of plugs were a gorgeous golden brown color.
Also the car is gutted to hell now, 1 seat, and just the dash, and I'l be running nitto 555r's. Hoping for under 13.5@over 100mph
thanks
Ryan

but the 15lbs....lol. Its not really a hassle, I'l just throw it up on a hoist at work and remove it. The car isnt licenced now, so its going to be trailered up to the track and thrashed. Since I can't sell it I might aswell have some fun with it.

blackplague he has a cs exhaust so 15 pounds sounds right. i thought the exhaust system of turbo cars was based on pressure differntial before and after the turbine of the turbocharger? therefore less pressure after is more powerful, but i'd stick with the 3", btw i thought the cs exhaust was 3 1/8"? good luck
